Plasencia Alma del Cielo is a medium-bodied cigar featuring all Nicaraguan tobacco grown exclusively by the Plasencias, including a wrapper leaf from Jalapa. The flavor journey opens with rich, creamy sweetness of marzipan and honey, accented by subtle hints of nougat, evolving with earthy undertones and delicate traces of orange zest, while the finish delivers a harmonious crescendo with warm cedar and a refined touch of ginger spice that lingers gently.
Named "Soul from the Sky," this cigar captures the essence of tobacco grown at Finca San Julián in Condega, situated at greater than 3,500 feet above sea level. The farm holds special significance as it was once owned by Melalina Torres' (Don Nestor Plasencia's wife) family and served as her childhood vacation home, sold in 1961, then repurchased by Don Nestor in the 1990s as a gift to his wife. Finca San Julián thrives with organically cultivated, high-elevation tobacco exposed to abundant sunlight, cooled by mountain breezes, and nourished by an untouched natural stream.
The higher elevation delivers different weather conditions than typical tobacco farms, with colder nights and more intense sunlight exposure that create a unique flavor profile unlike anything found in traditional lowland fields. Alma del Cielo represents the fourth installment in the acclaimed Alma series, following Alma Fuerte, Alma del Campo, and Alma del Fuego.
