Alma del Campo is a creamy and smooth, medium-plus cigar made with tobacco from Nicaragua. Alma del Campo is a complex smoke and has a perfect balance showing flavors of coffee and nuts, with a touch of spice. The cigars are constructed with a Nicaraguan wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos exclusively from the Plasencia farms. The excellently-constructed Tribu delivers primary tasting notes of espresso, earth, hay, and light manure, along with more subtle aromas and flavors of anise, cinnamon, dried fruits, oatmeal, peanuts, and pepper.
Alma del Campo translates to "soul of the countryside" and pays homage to the tobacco fields the family has been associated with. The Plasencia Alma del Campo is the second release in a planned five-part series, following the highly-rated Alma Fuerte, which was introduced in the fall of 2016. The Plasencia Alma del Campo is a Nicaraguan puro featuring tobaccos grown on the Plasencia farms. Production is handled out of the Plasencia factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Plasencia's Alma del Campo brand came out in 2017 and consists solely of Nicaraguan Criollo '98 tobacco grown by the Plasencia family.
Each is presented in ten-count boxes. Like the Plasencia Alma Fuerte, the box of the Alma del Campo doubles as an ashtray. Plasencia Alma del Campo as received a well-deserved 92-point rating, noting: "The dense, chewy smoke of this attractive robusto is both sweet and spicy with notes of nougat, caramel and nutmeg brought together by a toasty finish that carries a touch of wheat."
