The Tampa Smoker starts with mild to medium strength, increasing to medium strength by the final third, while delivering medium-bodied flavors throughout the smoking experience. The cigar features an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper that has a subtle reddish tint, complemented by a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and undisclosed filler tobaccos from Latin America.
Tampa Smokers cigars are hand rolled in J.C. Newman's iconic El Reloj cigar factory in Tampa in two sizes, a 6″x 52 toro and a 7″ baseball bat. A single master cigar roller hand rolls only 80 Tampa Smokers cigars per day, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and limited production. The line pays homage to a former minor league baseball team, the Tampa Smokers, that played in the Tampa area from 1919 to 1954 and got their name from Tampa being "the Cigar City."
J.C. Newman did a great job at capturing the vibe of the Tampa Smokers logo on this cigar, with the project having a distinctly "old school" look evident in both the packaging and the cigar. The Tampa Smokers packaging incorporates the original design of the Tampa Smokers jersey, which prominently featured a Tampa cigar, and these special cigars are packed in boxes with rounded corners that are reminiscent of the shape of a baseball.
