The Perdomo Legacy Shade Grown is a medium to full-bodied blend featuring rare, reddish-brown Nicaraguan Shade-Grown wrappers, which are bale-aged for 10 years and then carefully aged in bourbon barrels for a minimum of 10 months. At the heart of this project is a shade-grown wrapper grown from a proprietary hybrid seed developed from a combination of seeds from Cameroon and Cuba, with the tobacco grown on Perdomo's Finca Natalie farm in Estelí, Nicaragua. In addition to the hybrid Shade Grown wrapper, the remainder of the blend also utilizes tobaccos from the Perdomo farms, making the Shade Grown a Nicaraguan puro with Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binders and fillers sourced from Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa Valley, Nicaragua.
Legacy is a project spearheaded by Nicholas Perdomo III, the son of Nick Perdomo Jr., who sought to create a cigar to honor his father on his 60th birthday in one of the most ambitious projects in Perdomo Cigars' history. Perdomo's agronomy and genetics teams created the seed, representing the company's commitment to vertical integration and innovation. The Perdomo Legacy line, crafted by Nicholas Perdomo III, is a tribute to his father's 30+ years of expertise in premium cigar making, featuring a unique Nicaraguan tobacco, a hybridized Cuban-Cameroon seed tobacco that has never been used before.
Tasting notes of cedar, cinnamon, molasses, coffee, and spice resonate throughout a balanced smoking experience. The flavors really shine with this cigar – particularly that orange-honey sweetness, which was quite enjoyable, and the cigar is well-balanced and has enough complexity to satisfy. The Legacy Shade Grown Epicure is a cigar recommended to any cigar enthusiast.
