La Union Tatuaje represents a historic collaboration between My Father Cigars and Tatuaje celebrating their 20-year partnership. With both My Father Cigars and Tatuaje Cigars celebrating their 20th anniversaries, the two companies came together for a special limited edition project known as La Union. Tatuaje and My Father cigars have been working together for 20 years. To celebrate this partnership the two created four very special releases. The Tatuaje for My Father started out with medium strength and medium-bodied flavors. Both strength and body slightly increased in intensity during the smoking experience. By the end of the cigar, there was more strength and body, but I still assessed both attributes as being in the medium range.
Crafted exclusively at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, this limited edition project showcases the deep connection between the García family and Pete Johnson of Tatuaje. From the beginning, Don Pepin Garcia and Jaime Garcia have been handling the production of Pete Johnson's Tatuaje Cigars. In addition, Johnson is now the son-in-law of Don Pepin Garcia. Both of these uniquely rich blends are filled with Nicaraguan tobaccos from the Garcia family's farms, including the rare and delicate Pelo de oro varietal. All the tobacco used for binders and fillers are grown by the Garcia family, including the famed Pelo de Oro which has been grown by the family since 2008.
The black boxes will range from 1 to 1500 and the red boxes will range from 1501 to 3000. Therefore, there will be 1500 boxes of each color, of which 1200 remain in the United States and 300 allocated for international accounts. This ultra-premium release is designed for the most discerning collectors and represents a celebration of two decades of shared craftsmanship and innovation in the premium cigar industry.
