The Soga de Oro Sumatra features a Sumatra-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador covering a Nicaragua binder from Condega and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. This blend offers a medium to full-bodied profile, with the wrapper aged for three years and the rolled cigars receiving another year of aging in their boxes before being released. The line's name means "rope of gold," which comes from the twist of tobacco that is used in place of a traditional band on the cigar, though the cigar also gets a foot band to help identify it.
Only one pair of rollers is responsible for producing the cigars at the company's factory, Tabacalera Carreras, in Nicaragua. Produced in Nicaragua at their Tabacalera Carreras, the team there spares no expense crafting this gem. Production is limited to just 50 boxes of each size a month to ensure no corners are cut crafting these blends, making this a highly limited boutique offering that exemplifies Esteban Carreras' commitment to quality over quantity.
Each Soga de Oro is aged an extra year after production to ensure a smooth, balanced experience every time. This line was released as a follow-up to the Soga de Oro Maduro line, debuting at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, representing the latest addition to Esteban Carreras' premium portfolio of Nicaraguan puro cigars.
