With an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper and a full-bodied and complex flavor profile, Signature exemplifies the Punch smoking experience. Created by Agustin Garcia, master blender at General Cigar's Honduran factory (Scandinavian Tobacco Group, Danlí), development of the blend started in 2012 when Garcia began cultivating a special Cuban-seed Corojo wrapper grown in Ecuador exclusively for this project. Garcia and his team also chose a proprietary Connecticut Habano binder (grown in the microclimate of the Connecticut River Valley), and a filler combination of tobaccos of various ages from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Punch Signature was given a 91-rating by Cigar Aficionado. Punch Signature received a 93-rating from Cigar Aficionado saying: "Bold impressions of smoked meat, leather and mesquite are elegantly interwoven with sweet touches of dried stone fruits, caramel and a raw cocoa bean finish." Named to 3 "best of" lists in 2015, Punch Signature is a notable addition to the Punch brand. The brand continues its nearly two-century tradition of exceptional craftsmanship with this modern expression that maintains Punch's reputation for consistent quality while delivering the full-bodied complexity that seasoned enthusiasts seek.
Punch Signature pairs well with coffee, dark beer, and dark rum, and is best enjoyed after a hearty meal due to its full-bodied nature. Comparable sticks may include Camacho Corojo and Room 101 Honduras, also Honduran cigars that are made with the modern aficionado in mind. While suitable for intermediate connoisseurs, Punch Signature will be much more appreciated by an experienced palate. Further, someone who has enjoyed the Punch legacy over the years will truly come to enjoy the modern quality demonstrated by this amazing cigar.
