Background

When J.C. Newman introduced its Quorum brand in 2003, the cigars were made by an independent factory. As sales of Quorum grew, the Newmans found themselves in a highly vulnerable position because they were reliant on a third-party to roll their cigars. In order to control their own destiny and ensure the highest standards of quality, Eric and Bobby Newman built a large, modern cigar factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, known as J.C. Newman PENSA. This strategic move allowed the Newman family to maintain direct oversight of production quality while scaling up to meet growing demand. This factory, located in the rapidly growing city of Estelí, Nicaragua, is the origin of many of our highly-acclaimed cigars; most notably Brick House, Quorum, and Perla del Mar. The brand has become a cornerstone of J.C. Newman's portfolio, representing the company's ability to deliver exceptional value without compromising on craftsmanship.

Initially produced by an independent factory, the brand's rapid success led J.C. Newman to make a strategic investment in their own Nicaraguan manufacturing facility. J.C. Newman PENSA is currently the second largest cigar factory in Nicaragua and shows no sign of slowing anytime soon.
