This medium to full-bodied cigar delivers medium strength that remains balanced throughout the smoking experience, presenting a rich and complex flavor profile with notes of dark chocolate, cedar, peppery spices, espresso, and tobacco sweetness. These blends are entirely distinct from the core Charter Oak line—richer, more complex, and deeply personal. Hand rolled at the famous Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua, these cigars are an elevated and more luxurious version of the popular Charter Oak blend. They also mark a milestone—the opening of Foundation's new office on a 300-acre farm in the heart of the Connecticut River Valley, one of the world's most renowned tobacco-growing regions. As Melillo said in a press release, "The Charter Oak core line would have been [his grandfathers'] everyday cigar, and these new blends (Charter Oak Especiales) would be for the weekend or a special occasion". Production is limited to 500 boxes per quarter, making this a special release that pairs well with coffee or dark beer and is similar in stature to such other fuller-bodied maduro cigars as Oliva Serie G Maduro or San Lotano Maduro.
