This Medium-to-Full Bodied cigar, made at My Father Cigars S.A., has an oily and dark broad leaf wrapper, featuring a dark, oily Broadleaf maduro wrapper paired with a rich blend of Nicaraguan long-fillers with tobaccos from some of the Garcia family's farms. Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial received a well-deserved 90-point rating, noting: "Even though this dark, near-veinless robusto is solid to the touch, it draws wonderfully, leaving full-bodied notes of pepper, wine oak and coffee bean flavors on the palate." It's on the fuller side, but smooth and layered with notes of espresso, pepper, earth, and cedar.
In December 2009, My Father Cigars, Inc. released a new line that was blended entirely by Jaime García, son of cigar legend José "Don Pepín" García. Carrying the name Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial, the line debuted with a singular 6 x 56 toro gordo during an event at Cigar Inn in New York City. The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial cigar is Jaime's first foray into a blend that's all his own. For his kickoff wrapper he's chosen a nice, dark Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro. Handcrafted at My Father Cigars S.A. in Nicaragua using traditional methods.
The cigars have a core of well-aged Nicaraguan binders and long-fillers from the Garcia family farms in Esteli, Nicaragua. Dark, shiny, and oily Connecticut Broadleaf surrounds the densely packed Nicaragua core. Since that first release, the line has grown to include nine different vitolas, everything from exclusive creations to limited editions.
