Another addition to the FASA trilogy, FASA Noche contrasts the smooth and spicy of FASA Sol with bigger, bolder and deeper flavors. Since the two share the same binder and filler tobaccos, that noticeable difference comes from the incredible US Broadleaf oscuro grown in the Connecticut River Valley. This standout tobacco leaf offers a rich depth and power that when paired by the shared blend, makes for a completely unique smoking experience. Offered in 6x50 Toro and 6x60 Gigante sizes, both selections are medium bodied, full-flavored, and reasonably-priced. The CAO FASA Noche Toro is for cigar smokers who want a top-grade Maduro cigar with a medium-bodied, full-flavored profile, at a very fair price.
During the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, General Cigar Co. added two new regular production lines for its CAO brand: FASA Sol and FASA Noche. The two lines have the same listed internal components: a Cameroon binder and filler tobaccos sourced from the Dominican Republic and the Condega, Estelí and Jalapa growing regions of Nicaragua. However, they use different wrappers; the FASA Noche incorporates a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, while the FASA Sol uses an Olancho San Agustin wrapper grown in Honduras. FASA Noche is made at STG Estelí in Nicaragua. CAO continues to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and global tobacco sourcing, building on its heritage of creating unique blends that showcase the impact of different wrapper selections.
The CAO FASA NOCHE Toro experience begins with the rich, deep notes of raisin and a distinct peppery kick, particularly noticeable on the retrohale. Early on, a smooth caramel sweetness emerges, blending seamlessly into the profile. As the smoke evolves, a touch of cocoa subtly enters the mix, adding complexity. Creamy from the start, virtually buttery, the smoke was medium in body and strength with a pleasant, sweet 'n tangy flavor that held up for most of the first act. This savory merger could've been due to the Broadleaf Maduro wrapper and Cameroon binder melding with the spicier Nicaraguan fillers.
