This new blend features a hybrid H-2K-CT wrapper from the United States, with binders and fillers that are 100% Nicaraguan grown, cured and fermented by the Garcias. The H-2K-CT refers to the wrapper which is a sungrown Cuban-seed Habano 2000 varietal grown in Connecticut. Adjusting the blend slightly to accent the new wrapper, the Garcias created a cigar that is rich, yet refined at the same time, well balanced and truly delicious, with unique aromas and flavors.
The exclusive sungrown Habano 2000 wrapper was developed as a collaboration between Jaime Garcia and a Connecticut farm willing to take on the challenge of departing from the state's usual shade or broadleaf varieties. El Centurion H-2K-CT is handmade at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Beneath this stunning leaf, rests Nicaraguan-grown Cuban seed Criollo '98 & Corojo '99 leaves grown on the Garcia family farm and aged for 3 years.
A medium-bodied profile with notes of cedar, honey, nuts and creamy spices provides a luscious finish. After the expected Pepin-esque blast of black pepper, the wrapper provides a honeyed citrus peel and cedar overcoat to the sultry filler tobaccos full of dark cocoa, vanilla cream, roasted almonds, and cherry stem. This medium-full smoke scored a 'Top 25 Cigar of the Year' prize years ago.
