A blend of PERDOMO's finest and most cherished 12-year aged wrappers, binders, and fillers, these rare tobaccos have been carefully bale-aged for ten years and then bourbon barrel-aged for an additional two years. Using a proprietary double-aging process, each leaf used to make the PERDOMO Double Aged 12-Year Vintage is aged in charred, white oak bourbon barrels. This unique double-aging process ensures the perfect color, texture, aroma, and flavor in these tobaccos, making each cigar a well-balanced and full-flavored smoking experience. The PERDOMO Double Aged 12-Year Vintage Sun Grown is blended with a rich bourbon barrel-aged Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper combined with rare bourbon barrel-aged Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos offering a rich, earthy smoke with a spicy-sweet complexity, slight hints of oak and almond, and a long warming finish.
Like all Perdomo cigars, it is made by hand at Tabacalera Perdomo in Nicaragua. Unlike other cigars, however, the special part about this series is that all tobacco used for the cigars is bale aged for no less than 10 years. After that, the leaves spend an additional 2 years aging in charred white oak bourbon barrels to add yet another level of flavor. That means that for this blend, the Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler and binder tobacco, as well as the Nicaraguan Sun Grown wrapper, are all aged for 12 years! In the world of premium cigars, such extensive aging is a rarity, and only a select few names dare to go this extra mile. It's no wonder why this stick has become one of Perdomo's top releases to date.
Masterful construction is a constant trait when it comes to Perdomo cigars, and this blend is no different, offering a smooth, productive draw and ample amounts of thick, rich smoke on each and every puff. The flavor profile starts off with a large dose of black pepper and cedar, soon settling to an earthy array of rich tobacco flavor studded with hints of citrus and almonds. A rich, medium-full body, a complex, evolving flavor profile, and balance and smoothness that can rival even the world's most premier blends. It pairs very well with scotch and bourbon and even goes well with a simple cup of coffee.
