The Cohiba Connecticut showcases the most mild profile from Cohiba to date, featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with a Mexican San Andrés binder and a blend of Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Piloto Cubano & Olor, and Nicaraguan (Jalapa) fillers. This mild to medium strength cigar is positioned in the ultra-premium category with pricing between $19.99 and $22.99, representing the first time a Cohiba has ever had a Connecticut Shade wrapper.
The wrapper is grown under the constant cloud cover found in the Los Rios province of Ecuador, yielding a beautiful golden color and almost imperceptible veins. Developed under the stewardship of Sean Williams, who was hired by General Cigar Company to be the face of the Cohiba brand, this represents the first new regular production Cohiba release under his guidance. Handmade in the Dominican Republic at General Cigar Dominicana, Cohiba Connecticut is described as the most buttery, creamiest Cohiba creation yet.
The smoking experience begins with notes of cream and cedar, with generic wood, citrus, and black pepper emerging, while the citrus notes increase in intensity during the second third. Reviews describe it as a relatively mild smoke that is also rich and smooth, burning evenly with a perfect draw, making it an ideal after dinner cigar.
