In 1989, Julio Eiroa took over Fumas Tobacco, starting Caribe Imports and reviving the Baccarat brand. Working as partners with the Eiroa family, production responsibilities were assumed under Camacho, and the blend became mostly Honduran - a transformation that was a smash hit with smokers who loved the mellow creamy profile that became Baccarat's signature. In 2008, Davidoff acquired Camacho and the Rancho Jamastran factory in Honduras, with the Eiroa family remaining owners of their Honduran tobacco fields and overseeing all Baccarat production.
