The Connecticut wrapper makes this a mild cigar, that allows it to be perfectly smooth, offering a mild to medium strength cigar with pleasing notes of cedar, nuts, and cream with a woody retro-hale. If you're a fan of Connecticuts, this one will blow you away with its notes of creamy vanilla, nuttiness, subtle citrus, and soft pepperiness. Where many of the other iterations showcase a hefty body and a classic punch of spice, the Aladino Connecticut is unabashed in its differing, nearly opposite direction. The Honduran interior pulls back on intensity to better highlight the cigar's signature ingredient: an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper.
Inside the premium is an authentic Corojo binder and long-filler from the JRE Tobacco Farm that creates a blend reminiscent of classic Cuban cigars. It is rolled at Julio Eiroa's Las Lomas Factory in the Jamastran Valley. As with everything JRE Tobacco Company does, Aladino Connecticut is old-school and authentic above all else. What this means is that the Eiroa's have blended a Connecticut as they remember the style.
This is an excellent morning cigar, especially with a cup of coffee or espresso. The flavors, nuances, and complexities are there, but the smoker needs to be patient—plan a session with little distractions and there's a good chance you'll have a serious moment with this nostalgic Connecticut.
